Ellie is an accomplished athlete; achieving success as Canberra United’s inaugural soccer captain in 2008 and continuing to play for GWS Giants for her second season in 2018. Her career in soccer has also seen her represent international teams; Houston Dash in the US and Avaldsnes in Norway. She was selected to play for the Matildas and represent Australia in 2009 and 2012. She will continue to play soccer in the coming year as well as representing the Giants in the AFLW.

She had taken a keen interest in AFL as her father played for
Eastlake and she played a little when she was younger. Ellie was very excited about the prospect of the AFL competition and was determined to extend her athleticism to the code she so admired.

Ellie is a very active and motivated person; she keeps herself busy between professional sports by using her skills as a physio and helping out her fellow teammates. She has developed a reputation as a very determined, skilled and focused sportswoman and will no doubt be a formidable force in AFL as she has been in soccer.
